Good Calories, Bad Calories, by Gary Taubes, may seem like another new diet fad, but it is not.  For millions of years, humans have lived and thrived, on meat, fish and fat.  Agriculture, and the advent of carbohydrate heavy grains, is only about 10,000 years old and a relatively new addition to our diets.  Since then, we have grown heavier, shorter and more sickly.   Mr. Taubes explains clearly what has been happening to us and how we can reverse our downward decline.
